We hope this finds all of you staying safe and keeping well during this challenging year. Due to the pandemic, we are holding our meetings in Zoom until it becomes safe to resume physical meetings. Our second meeting of the year was held on December 1, 2020. Its topic was the Hour of Code. We reviewed the BeeBot Emulator, learned about CodeBytes, and reviewed the stages of computational thinking in the Star Wars Hour of Code. Then Colleen Hoban took us on a tour of K-5 resources at Code.org, Tynker, Kodable, Grinch, CodeMonkey, Santa Tracker, CS First, Breakout EDU, App Creator, and Code Monster.
Delaware CS Equity Summit
Please mark your calendars for the CS Equity Summit that we will be hosting in Zoom on Thursday, March 25, from 5-8 PM. The summit is funded by a grant we received from the national CSTA’s Growing Equity in Computing Knowledge-building Opportunities (GECKO) project. Our chapter is co-sponsoring this event with the University of Delaware and Delaware State University. We are also making arrangements with the Delaware Department of Education for the Summit counting as professional development clock hours for Delaware teachers.

Meeting Schedule

As the new year continues, we look forward to the following chapter meetings that we are holding on the Tuesday evenings listed below. All of these meetings take place in Zoom from 7:30 PM until 9 PM. Please mark your calendars as follows:

CSTA 2021 Annual Conference
The CSTA 2021 Annual Conference will be held virtually online from July 14-16, 2021. Please mark your calendars. To register, follow this link to the CSTA 2021 Virtual Conference.
 
Call for Officer Candidates
